The villain Wolverine will be facing in Logan has been revealed, and he comes straight from the comics.
The movie’s Instagram account posted this photo of Boyd Holbrook with the caption “Pierce,” leading to the conclusion that he will portray Donald Pierce, an arrogant cyborg who hates all mutants, and the X-Men in particular. Pierce first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #132 in 1980. He became a high-ranking member of the Inner Circle of the Hellfire Club, with plans to kill all the other members of the Inner Circle. The Hellfire Club was seen in X-Men: First Class under the leadership of Sebastian Shaw (Kevin Bacon).
Jackman revealed the title of the third Wolverine movie last week (see “Third Standalone 'Wolverine' Movie To Be Called 'Logan'”) and director James Mangold confirmed plans for an R-Rating. Boyd Holbrook was cast as the main villain in April (see “End of April Geek Movie Round-Up”).
