The BBC has released a new trailer for Sherlock Season 4 which announced the series premiere date of January 1, 2017.

It’s good timing, since star Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange opened in international markets this weekend (see “'Medea' Tops Box Office as 'Inferno' Bombs”) and debuts in U.S. theaters this weekend (see “By The Eye of Agamotto! 'Doctor Strange' PR Kicks into High Gear”).

Sherlock is a modern reimagining of Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic Sherlock Holmes mysteries. The first episode of the final three-episode season is called “The Six Thachers.” The second episode will be titled “The Lying Detective.” The show airs on BBC One in the UK and PBS in the U.S.
