In early February, fans can boldly go with 100 pages of classic Gold Key Star Trek comics courtesy of IDW’s Star Trek Gold Key 100-page Spectacular.

This 100-page collection reprints work by writers Dick Wood and Len Wien and artists Nevio Zaccara and Alberto Giolitti. The creators knew little more about the show than what they could glean from promotional materials, making this collection a bizarre and entertaining assortment of 1960s-era tales. Fans will also get a brief history of Gold Key Star Trek comics from author Joe Berenato. MSRP for this full-color collection is $7.99. The book is due in stores February 8.

Early 2017 will also see the release of the sixth volume in IDW’s Star Trek: Gold Key Archives. The 160-page, full-color hardcover collects issues #32–34, #36, and #38–39 (the missing issues were reprints). MSRP is $29.99, and the book will be in stores on January 10, 2017.

In other Star Trek news, Michelle Yeoh will be joining the cast of Star Trek: Discovery, CBS All Access’ upcoming digital streaming series based on the legendary franchise (see “Michelle Yeoh Cast in 'Star Trek: Discovery'”). Her precise role has yet to be officially announced.
