Kobold Press is producing an updated version of its Midgard Campaign Setting, including both D&D 5th Edition and Pathfinder versions, with release scheduled for December.

Originally published in 2012, the Midgard Campaign Setting was developed by Wolfgang Baur, offering a dark take on European myth and legend.  The new version, edited by Steve Winter, advances the setting’s timeline by a decade while adding new material and expanding the setting’s geography.

The new release will include four books:

Midgard Campaign Setting is the core book for Midgard.  This 300+ page hardcover book will describe the world of Midgard, including its kingdoms, cities, gods, and geography, as well as providing plot hooks.  This book is all background, so it will be useable with any fantasy roleplaying system.  MSRP is expected to be $49.99.

Midgard Heroes Handbook for 5th Edition has rules for creating characters using the Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition rules, including new spells and equipment, character classes, and races.  MSRP is expected to be $39.99.

Midgard Player’s Guide for Pathfinder RPG includes races, class options, feats, equipment, and magic for using Midgard with Pathfinder.  This book was written in cooperation with Paizo staff developer Amanda Kunz.  MSRP is expected to be $39.99.

Eldritch Lairs is a collection of adventures set in Midgard and written by James Haeck using D&D 5th Edition rules.  MSRP is expected to be $19.99.

Kobold Press is funding all four titles through a Kickstarter campaign which met its $20,000 funding goal in less than three hours and still has 29 days remaining.
