Two of the world’s most famous felines are coming together in a limited series crossover from Dynamite Entertainment and BOOM! Studios.

Grumpy Cat will meet Garfield in the all-new series, which will be written by Mark Evanier (Sergio Aragone's Groo, Garfield)*. An artist wasn’t specified, but the first issue cover features art by Steve Uy. The series is set to debut this summer.

[*Ed. note - the original announcement listed Jim Davis as the writer.]

Grumpy Cat, a real feline that found fame on the Internet and went on to licensing glory, has been the star of one of Dynamite’s most popular comics series, The Misadventures of Grumpy Cat (see “We Check in on Dynamite's Pivot”). Garfield, a fictional feline that found fame in the newspapers and went on to licensing glory, has been the star of a monthly ongoing series from BOOM!’s all-ages imprint, KaBOOM!.

The third collection of the Grumpy Cat series was released in January (see “Preview: 'Grumpy Cat Vol. 3: Grumpus' HC”). This summer, Garfield is getting a new art book, Jim Davis’ Garfield: The Original Daily and Sunday Art Archive, courtesy Hermes Press and Paws, Incorporated (see “'Jim Davis' Garfield: The Original Daily and Sunday Art Archive'”).
