Comic writer Gail Simone is urging her 90,000+ Twitter followers to support their local comic stores by picking up their pull box purchases. In a series of Tweets on Tuesday, she defined the problem, assuaged fears for those that hadn’t been in for a while, and made the appeal broad by addressing it to anyone who “ever supported” her “or liked her work.”
Here at ICv2, we’ve certainly been hearing about significant pull box abandonment by comic store customers over the past few months, so her words are welcome.
Simone’s appeal follows another by BOOM! Studios CEO Ross Richie, who started a social media campaign in early January urging fans to visit comic stores and make a purchase (see “Boost Your Local Comic Store, BOOM! CEO Urges”).
