Dan Barnett of Walt's Cards in Baltimore, Maryland saw retailer Noah Broessel’s comments about shipping comics one day earlier (see “Noah Broessel of Pop Culture Paradise on Weekly Delivery Schedule”) and says the current system is the most fair:

Noah Broessel raises an interesting issue urging shipping of comics for delivery one day before the release date.  Regrettably this plan has been suggested several times in the past and each time it has been tried, it has failed on the fact that some stores will sell the comics early to get an advantage over the competition.

But Mr. Broessel will argue that, "It can't happen here."  It can.

But Mr. Broessel will argue that, "My Customers are loyal."  They aren't.

But Mr. Broessel will argue that, "Diamond will cut off those selling early."  They won't.

Diamond learned the hard way that same-day delivery is the only way to avoid the problems and make the system fair to all.
