John Parker of CCGs Cards Comics and Games in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has been following the Tuesday shipping retailer comments (see “Matthew Dykes of Kapow! Comics on Diamond Shipping Policies”) and also agrees that Tuesdays would be better:

I am another store owner who has issues with Diamond's shipping policy.

This past Thanksgiving week, my regular UPS driver was on sick leave and my delivery was shifted to another driver's truck, unbeknownst to me.  I arrived at the store at 1pm Wednesday (we open at 2pm weekdays because the vast majority of our customers are school-aged kids), and patiently waited for my comics to arrive around 1:30 as usual.  Finally around 4pm, I called Diamond to get a tracking number.  When I looked up the number on the UPS website, it shows that an attempt was made at 9:10AM, and that the package would not be attempted to be redelivered until MONDAY.  Thankfully, my wife was willing to go sit at the UPS warehouse and wait 2 hours for the driver to return.

Had I been allowed to receive my comics on Tuesday, at the very least I would have had the option to go to the UPS facility Wednesday morning and not inconvenience my customers who had to wait until Black Friday to receive their books.
