Marvel Studios has added Academy Award nominee Jeff (The Big Lebowski) Bridges to the cast of Marvel's first self-produced film, Iron Man, which is set to debut on May 2nd 2008.  Bridges joins a stellar cast that also includes Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark/Iron Man), Terrance Howard (Rhodey), and Gwyneth Paltrow (Pepper Potts, see 'Gwyneth Paltrow Joins 'Iron Man' Cast').  Marvel did not announce the name of the character that Bridges will play, but Kevin Feige, President of Production at Marvel Studios did indicate that 'He will portray a close business associate of Tony Stark. A confidant and longtime employee at defense contractor Stark Industries, Bridges' character plays a major role in shaping Tony Stark's life.'

 

Director Jon Favreau plans to begin filming of Iron Man, which will be distributed by Paramount Pictures, in Los Angeles next month.
