Stuck in a parenthetical phrase in an announcement of Fox Atomic Comics' New York City Comic Con activities was the news that Heidi McDonald, who will be participating in a panel on Fox Atomic's graphic novel releases along with Fox Atomic EIC R. Eric Lieb, was a 'newly signed editor.'  Ms. McDonald is no stranger to editing and has performed that function at Vertigo and with Disney Comics, before embarking on her current posts as co-editor of Publishers Weekly's PW Comics Week and author of the lively and informative comics industry blog The Beat.

Joining Ms. McDonald and Mr. Lieb on the graphic novel panel will be Steve Niles, author of the Fox Atomic graphic novel 28 Days Later: The Aftermath (due out in April) and Jimmy Palmiotti, co-writer of The Hills Have Eyes: The Beginning (out in July).  Fox Atomic is also publishing the horror comics anthology The Nightmare Factory in August.

Fox Atomic is also bringing horror auteur Wes Craven (The Last House on the Left) to the New York City Comic Con, where he will be featured on a special panel and also judge several video contests.
