9-11 Emergency Relief, the benefit book published by Alternative Comics, is featured in this week's print edition of Time Magazine.  The cover is shown in full color, and Time staffer Andrew D. Arnold provides a short description of the book and notes that comic benefit books like this 'provide both an artistic outlet and a way to help.'  The exposure in Time Magazine is just the latest example of the excellent publicity that Alternative Comics publisher Jeff Mason has managed to generate in newspapers and magazines across the country.

In contrast to the more mainstream tribute books from Marvel, 9-11 Emergency Relief includes contributions from well-known indie comics creators including Harvey Pekar, Jessica Abel, Jeff Smith, Tony Millionaire, Nick Bertozzi, Dean Haspiel, and Ted Rall.  Alternative Comics' Jeff Mason told Publishers Weekly that the first printing of the 208-page trade paperback was pegged at 40,000 copies.  The book is being distributed by LPC, Last Gasp, FM International, Cold Cut, and Diamond.
