Sony has announced that Mark Steven Johnson's movie adaptation of the Marvel Comics-based Ghost Rider will be released on DVD on June 12th.  Ghost Rider comes to DVD a mere 117 days after it opened with a $45 million bang.  Johnson's film, which reportedly cost $110 million to produce, earned nearly 40% of its domestic total of $114.4 million during its opening weekend, and also earned an estimated $100 million overseas.  Ghost Rider easily eclipsed Johnson's previous Marvel-based movie, Daredevil ($102 million domestic, $76 million overseas).

Sony will release Ghost Rider, which starred Nicholas Cage and Eva Mendes, in two versions: a standard edition ($28.95) that includes a 'making-of' featurette and two commentaries, and a two-disk 'Extended Cut' edition ($34.95) that includes bonus footage along with a second featurette.
