IDW Publishing announced it will release the collected TPB of Scareface: Scarred for Life and Scarface: The Movie Scriptbook in July, the first Scarface book format products from IDW.

The Scarred for Life TPB ($19.99), takes place after the movie (and after a rough recovery for the bullet-riddled Tony Montana).  It collects issues #1-5 and will be 128 pages.  The Movie Scriptbook will be 240 pages and also sells for $19.99 MSRP.

Also in July, IDW will launch Scarface: Devil in Disguise, a five-issue miniseries set in Cuba before the movie storyline.  The Devil in Disguise series is written by Joshua Jabcuga (Doomed) with art by Alberto Dose (Desperadoes: Buffalo Dreams) and provides a backstory for the young Montana. Each issue will be 32 pages and list for $3.99.

2008 will mark the 25th anniversary of the ground-breaking film, which is already undergoing a licensing resurgence, perhaps most notably the Scarface: The World is Yours videogame from Sierra Entertainment.  We've seen Scarface lighters at the checkout at a campus convenience store, so we know the merchandise is happening on a pretty large scale.  Scarface merchandise for pop culture retailers includes the novel, Scarface: The Beginning Vol. 1, from Dark Horse (see 'Scarface Novels, Gremlins') and the 18' Talking Tony Montana action figure from NECA, with a second figure coming out in May and more releases planned for November.
