Comi Press is reporting that Fruits Basket creator Natsuki Takaya has a new manga series, Hoshi wa Utau (Stars Sing), debuting in Japan on June 5th in Hana to Yume #13, the bi-weekly shojo magazine, which has a 95% female readership (63% of which are 13-18).  The new manga is described as a 'romance' story, and the text in the ad for the new series declares it is: 'The Stray Star's one-sided romance.'

There is no telling whether Ms. Takaya's new manga will be as successful as Fruits Basket, which is the most popular shojo series in North America and also a major hit in Japan (see 'Fruits Basket Tally Over 18 Million').  Tokyopop, Fruits Basket's North American publisher, has sold over 2 million copies of FB manga ('Two Million Fruits Basket') here and still have seven more volumes to release.
