This October Fantasy Flight Games is releasing Beowulf: The Movie Board Game (MSRP $34.95), the officially licensed game based on Robert Zemeckis' Beowulf film (screenplay by Neil Gaiman and Roger Avary), which will debut on November 16th.  The new Beowulf board game utilizes gameplay based on Reiner Knizia's Kingdoms (previously published in the U.S. by Fantasy Flight), but has been heavily modified to mirror the action of the Beowulf epic with a three-act structure, and by the inclusion of all new special powers and board shapes.  The deluxe full color box features striking art from Zemeckis' Beowulf film, which utilizes the same visually-entrancing motion capture technology he used on The Polar Express--and the game also includes sculpted plastic figures for the principals such as Beowulf, Grendel and the Golden Dragon.

In addition to the board game from Fantasy Flight, the comic book series from IDW (see 'IDW to Adapt Beowulf Movie'), action figures from McFarlane Toys (see 'McFarlane Toys Gets Beowulf License'), Diamond Select Toys will produce prop replicas, resin busts and figures based on the film, and Harper Collins will publish a Beowulf mass market paperback by Caitlin Kiernan and Neil Gaiman.
