Lots of announcements came out of Wizard World Chicago but none had more resonance with the fan community than Marvel's plan to team Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch (the guys behind the Ultimates) on the monthly Fantastic Four comic starting in early 2008.  Note that Marvel isn't talking about the Ultimate Fantastic Four or about some mini-series or crossover event; Millar and Hitch are taking over the regular monthly FF with hopes of turning this staple of Marvel universe, The World's Greatest Comic Magazine of yore, into a top ten comic book once again.

While fans are excited about the prospect of seeing Hitch's precise, expressive 'widescreen' art in a monthly FF book, they are also wondering if he will be able to keep on schedule given his performance on the Ultimates where he has completed only 24 issues during a period that has stretched out to almost five years.  Marvel insists that Hitch has been working on the monthly FF project for quite a while already and that the books will ship on time.
