The editors of Secret Identities: The Asian Superhero Anthology, which will be published by the independent publishing house New Press in the fall of 2008, have appealed for submissions from artists and writers interested in submitting work for the anthology.  The editors of Secret Identities include EIC Jeff Yang, founder of the Asian American magazine aMagazine, Educational Editor Keith Chow, the former editor of Diamond Comic Distributor's Bookmark e-newsletter, Managing Editor Parry Shen, who edited the Beavis and Butthead comic for Marvel, and Art Director Jerry Ma, one of the first creators on Digital Webbing Presents.

The editors noted that while there are a significant number of Asian American writers and artists employed in the comic book industry, there is a dearth of Asian American superheroes in contemporary comic books.  A number of top Asian American creators including Greg Pak (World War Hulk), J. Torres (Batman Strikes), Sean Chen (Iron Man), and Cliff Chiang (Human Target) have all agreed to contribute to the new anthology, and the editors are hoping that others, both inside and outside the mainstream comics industry will submit art samples and story ideas by October 15th.
