Topps, one of only a few companies producing Indiana Jones merchandise prior to the release of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull next May (see 'Cate Blanchett in Indy 4'), is planning Indiana Jones Heritage Cards, with 90 images from the first three movies, in February.  Five card packs will retail for $2.

The set will be retro-themed in more than imagery.  The card design will evoke the 1981 Topps Raiders of the Lost Ark cards, and feature gray-back card stock.  The packs will also feature gum as another throwback feature!

Inserts will include autograph cards from cast members of the original movies, sketch cards by well-known illustrators, and sequentially numbered parallel cards.  Details of the insert cards will be released later.

The revival of the Indiana Jones franchise is shaping up to be a big event for retailers, with the Topps cards joining comics from Dark Horse (see 'Dark Horse Gets Indy'), books from Del Rey (see 'Del Rey's Got Indy'), and toys from Hasbro (see 'Hasbro Gets Indy 4 Toy License').

A recent poll by MovieTickets.com indicated that Indiana Jones is the most anticipated movie of 2008.
