In January (just in time for the forward-oozing primary season) Denis Kitchen Publishing is releasing Capitol Hell ($11.95), a collection of 24 postcards created by storyboard artist Pete Von Sholly (The Green Mile, Mars Attacks) skewering contemporary political figures from both sides of the aisle. To create this much needed volume of election year leavening, Von Sholly mixed caricatures of political figures with horror imagery and came up with some ghoulish ersatz movie delights including the current Veep starring as Dickula (who administers a fatal 'Colinoscopy' using the former Secretary of State), Rudy Giuliani as Nosferudy, and Hillary Clinton in The Attack of the Fifty-Something Woman.
The twenty-four duotone Capitol Hell postcards are perforated for easy removal and the collection also satirizes pundits and non-officeholders such as Bill O'Reilly, Ann Coulter, Michael Moore, Karl Rove, Al Sharpton and Jon Stewart as well as those who swill directly at the public trough.
