On his blog at Marvel.com, Fantastic Four editor Tom Brevoort unveiled the new look of Marvel's flagship Fantastic Four comic.  The new trade dress, which according to Brevoort was 'designed to have more the flavor of a mainstream magazine than a comic book,' will appear on FF #554 in February, the first issue featuring the new creative team of Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch.  Brevoort compares the FF design to the new look Marvel inaugurated with the launching of its Ultimate books and notes that like the Ultimate titles, the new FF 'will now not be mistaken for anything else we're publishing.'

In his blog posting Brevoort also addressed the worries that some retailers have that the new FF series will not appear on schedule.  While not totally ruling out that possibility, Brevoort noted that Hitch, (a gifted artist, but a notoriously slow worker, who was blamed by many for delays in Marvel's Ultimates series), has already fully penciled six issues of the new FF series.
