Dark Horse has big plans for its bestselling Serenity property in 2008 starting with the February release of two limited edition Serenity Ship Ornaments, followed by the March debut of Serenity: Better Days, a new 3-issue mini-series, and the April appearance of two Serenity Lunch Boxes.

Foremost among these new offerings is the Serenity: Better Days comic series, which features the same creative team as Dark Horse mega-popular, Serenity: Those Left Behind.  Written by Serenity/Firefox creator Joss Whedon and Brett Matthews, the 3-issue series features art Will Conrad while Adam Hughes will provide the covers for all three books.

The long rumored Serenity Lunch Boxes include the expected stylish construction featuring the Serenity logo combined with a depiction of the ship itself, and a wildly unexpected design featuring the anime art style employed in the Fruity Oaty Bar commercial, the very ad that is playing in the club where the crew discovers River's hidden 'talents.'

The limited edition (5000 each) Serenity ornaments, Inara's Shuttle and The Reaver Ship, are the only three-dimensional representations of these vessels available.  They were created with the aid of Zoic Studios, which provided digital data from the original ships created for the movie.
