Yen Press sister company Little, Brown Books for Young Readers has announced that it will publish English language translations of the Haruhi Suzumiya light novels, the source material for the bestselling manga (recently acquired by Yen, see “Yen Press Lands Haruhi Suzumiya”), and the anime, distributed in the U.S. by Bandai Entertainment.
The first volume will be published in trade paperback in April, 2009, with a back-of-the-book excerpt of the Yen manga. Eight other volumes are planned, for a total of nine in all. Each will feature spot art.
