The successful debut of Iron Man has had an effect on Marvel Entertainment’s stock and it has also raised the stock of Marvel Studios executive Kevin Feige, who has been promoted from President of Production, to President and Marvel Studio's Chairman David Maisel, who had his contract extended through 2010. Feige who joined Marvel in 2000 has earned “exec producer” and “co-producer” credits on most of Marvel’s major hits starting with the original X-Men film.
Marvel Studios Chairman David Maisel told Variety that “the leadership (Feige) brought to Iron Man, specifically in the casting, creative development, and production areas was stellar.” Both Maisel, who was named Chairman of Marvel Studios last year, and Feige have received kudos from Marvel Entertainment chairman Morton Handel.
