In the 'where are they now' department, former Marvel CEO Gerry Calabrese became CEO of IPNetwork.com late last year.  Calabrese was CEO of Marvel from 1994-1996, and ran Marvel Consumer Products from 1990-1994.  Calabrese's tenure at Marvel was  a disastrous time for the company, as it executed its Heroes World distribution strategy and  rode a massive downturn in comic and card publishing revenues (it owned Skybox and Fleer at the time).

IPNetwork.com is an online intellectual property exchange that offers buyers, sellers, licensors and licensees an online forum to explore relationships.  The company also has a licensing-tracking software product and an event sponsorship exchange.  Properties on the site include the Marvel Universe characters, Sad Sack, Hot Stuff, and Casper from Harvey, and Shadowgate, a videogame property.  Among the categories available for Marvel licenses are trading cards (does Topps know?), t-shirts, and posters.  The firm closed on a $20 million round of financing last fall, which probably means it will be around for awhile.
