New York Anime Festival has announced that it will include the short story “Vampire Hunter D:  The Wanderer’s Ship” in its Official Guide Book, the first time the story has seen print in any language.  The story, by Vampire Hunter D author Kikuchi Hideyuki, will provide a unique keepsake for fans of the creator who come to see him at the show (see “Kikuchi Hideyuki at NYAF”).

The publishing rights to the story are owned by Hitomi Yasue, a fan who won the handwritten story and the rights in a drawing at a Talk Live event hosted by Kikuchi, one of three times such a story has been won by a fan. 

The story will be translated by long-time Kikuchi translator Kevin Leahy.
