The Hellboy movie, which at one point was going to start shooting this year with Vin Diesel starring, is now set to be made by Revolution Studios with Guillermo del Toro (Blade II) writng and directing and Ron Perlman starring, according to Ain't It Cool News.  AICN's Harry Knowles is very high on the project; he expects a much better movie than Blade II.  Shooting is expected to begin next winter in Prague.
 
The movie is based on the Dark Horse comic by Mike Mignola.  With comics, an upcoming RPG from Steve Jackson Games (see 'Hellboy RPG To Include New Comic'), and other products already available or in the pipe, there should be enough merchandise to take advantage of growing interest in this property.
