Lovers of crime comics were salivating at Dark Horse’s New York Comic Con announcement of Noir, a pitch-black anthology of crime stories from top creators such as Brian Azzarello (100 Bullets), Ed Brubaker (Criminal), David Lapham (Stray Bullets), Rick Geary (A Treasury of Victorian Murder), Chris Offut (HBO’s True Blood), Paul Grist (Kane), Jeff Lemire (Essex County Trilogy), Alex de Campi (Smoke), M.K. Perker (Cairo), and the Fillbach Brothers (Maxwell Strangewell).  Diana Schutz is editing the new anthology, which is slated for release on September 30th.

The artists who are going to be contributing to Noir are no less distinguished than the writers.  They include Sean Phillips (Criminal), Eduardo Barreto (Cobb), Gabriel Ba (Umbrella Academy), Fabio Moon (Sugarshock), and Dean Motter (Mister X).
