Reviews of Watchmen are still running overwhelmingly positive, with 81% of the 27 reviews tracked liking the film, according to RottenTomatoes.com.  This is a far cry from our initial look last Tuesday, when the first reviews from the London screening were just coming and there were only seven reviews tallied (see “No Middle Ground”). 

The fact that the positive ratio is holding strong as additional reviews are tallied is a positive sign for where the critics will end up as a whole.  And while reviews, good or bad, don’t determine box office, a well-reviewed film will help maintain the sheen that an adaptation of one of the best graphic novels ever deserves.
