In an announcement that is sure to evoke a few more curses from the Wizard of Northampton, Warner Bros. Digital has unveiled Watchmen: Justice Is Coming, a multi-player game for the iPhone and iPod Touch based on Zack Snyder’s live action movie adaptation of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ Watchmen comic book series (though Warner Bros. Digital was careful not to mention Moore’s name in the press release, merely mentioning that the classic graphic novel was  “co-created by Dave Gibbons").

The game, which allows players to battle in realistic 3-D environments, takes place in the 1970s before the events in the Watchmen graphic novel, but after the passage of the Keene Act that outlawed costumed heroes.  Players in the game create their own personal avatar and enter the rain-soaked, crime-ridden mean streets of Manhattan to do battle against the forces of evil.
