MoCCA, the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art, will open its Art of Watchmen exhibit on Friday, March 6th, showcasing cover art for all twelve of the original Watchmen comics, photographs of the cast by Clay Enos (whose Watchmen Portraits was released by Titan earlier this year, see “Three Watchmen Movie Books”), and other materials.

The 12 cover art pieces by Dave Gibbons are being loaned to the exhibit by Wizard publisher Gareb Shamus.

Concept sketches by Gibbons will be used as the starting point as a visual depiction of the progression of the characters from concept to comic to film.  Photos from Watchmen director Zack Snyder’s collection are also included in the exhibit.

The exhibit, sponsored by Warner Bros., runs from March 6th (special opening event Thursday night, the 5th) through May 2nd.
