The Canadian Website of online retailer Amazon is listing two manga volumes from “Kodansha Comics” for release on October 13th.  Kodansha originally planned to open in the U.S. last fall (see “Kodansha Heading Stateside”), but didn’t.  Now it appears that the company has reactivated its plans. 

The volumes listed are the first volumes of manga classics Akira and Ghost in the Shell, both released most recently by Dark Horse.  Tokyopop and Del Rey Manga also publish Kodansha titles in the U.S.
