Takashi Miike will direct a $30 million live action feature based on the Takeru manga, according to Hollywood Reporter.  The manga from the early 90s, the first comic book series created using computer graphics, is by Buichi Terasawa, who studied with Osamu Tezuka. 

Miike directed Yatterman, Ichi the Killer, and Chakusin Ari, which was remade in the U.S. as One Missed Call.
