Viz Media has announced that the serialization of Ultimo, a collaborative effort between Stan Lee and manga-ka Hiroyuki Takei, will commence in the July issue of Shonen Jump, which is on sale now.  The historic East/West collaboration between the creators of Shaman King and Spider-Man was first announced at the New York Comic Con in 2008 (see “Viz to Publish Stan Lee Manga Project”).

Ultimo features the struggle between two mysterious floating figures, Vice and Ultimo, who appear in the skies above Farmless City and do battle in a ferocious combat that spreads destruction to the city below.  Who are they and where did they come from?  The first chapter of Ultimo, which is serialized in the current Shonen Jump, provides the answers.
