Warners is pulling out all the stops in its promotion of the first Watchmen DVD release on July 21st (see “Watchmen DVD on July 21st”), with a four city theatrical release of the director’s cut and a special screening at San Diego Comic-Con International, according to Hollywood Reporter. 

The Comic-Con screening will be a BD-Live event, which will allow Blu-ray viewers anywhere in North America to watch the movie at the same time as the screening, see and hear director Zack Snyder’s comments, and ask questions.  The screening will then be archived for future viewings.   

The director’s cut will be screened theatrically in Los Angeles, New York, Minneapolis, and Dallas before the street date of the DVD.
