WizKids’ initial distribution strategy as a subsidiary of NECA, for its Hammer of Thor release (see “Marvel HeroClix:  Hammer of Thor”) is to sell through its previous exclusive distributors, Alliance Game Distributors and Diamond Comic Distributors, as well as directly to retailers through NECA's direct-to-retailer program.  The direct-to-retailers component is new for WizKids, which sold only through distributors in its previous incarnation.

 

The company has not yet made final decisions about its distribution strategy for future releases.  “A lot of decisions about our strategy are just being determined,” a WizKids spokesperson told us.  “Longer-term decisions about our distribution will be made in the coming months.”
