Placements of Konami’s Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds Duel Terminals (see “Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds Duel Terminals”) are expanding, with over 100 machines placed in over 80 stores in the U.S. to date.  Reactions have been generally positive, with daily revenue running at $50 to $100 per day per machine, more during Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG tournaments, according to Konami VP Yumi Hoashi.

Each play, which can be either arcade-style or TCG-style, is $1, and each player receives a Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG card.  Players can also opt to skip the game and just get the card.  Duel Terminals are the only way that players can get the cards during a period of exclusivity, making them attractive premiums for play.  Cards include Super Rare and Ultra Rare cards, but not Ultimate Rares.

The program is only open the Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament stores, which can order a machine for $2500 including freight ($2000 for the second machine).  Replacement cards are ordered from Konami at normal discounts.
