The Marvel app for the iPhone and iPad (see “Marvel iPad App”).charted at #14 on the list of free apps offered through the iTunes store at the end of its first weekend of availability.  The free app allows users to shop around 500 Marvel issues (individual issues are $1.99); download select free titles, including New Avengers #1, Captain America #1, Invincible Iron Man #1, and Thor #1; or access the Comixology comic shop locator.  

Marvel’s app benefited from widespread press coverage surrounding the iPad launch; many iPad stories included coverage of Marvel’s app for the new device.
