Konami has announced that it will launch the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series, a new series of events that replaces its Shonen Jump Championships, with an event in Chantilly, Virginia on the weekend of May 15-16.  The name change was made to give the event “a title more befitting its championship caliber stature,” according to the announcement.  The Yu-Gi-Oh Championship Series will continue in other countries in the Americas and Europe.

Konami just hosted the 75th Shonen Jump Championship since their launch in 2002 (see “75th Shonen Jump Championships Set”).
