
Warner Bros. Consumer Products has issued a press release detailing an ambitious program of licensed merchandise that will accompany the Green Lantern film, which stars Ryan Reynolds, into theaters in the summer of 2011. Master toy licensee Mattel is planning a “rich and comprehensive” live of products based on the film that will target both kids and adult collectors.
The multi-category Green Lantern toy line will include both basic and deluxe action figures, role-playing items, playsets, games, puzzles, and vehicles. Along with every action figure Mattel is including a Green Lantern ring that consumers will be able to wear themselves. The Green Lantern Deluxe Action Figures each have a special feature that will allow kids to replicate actions from the film as well as accessories that expand play possibilities.
Mattel is also releasing a Green Lantern Movie Masters line of highly detailed figures based on the film that are being sculpted by the “Four Horsemen” design team and are clearly targeted at adult collectors as well as kids.
Mattel will release Green Lantern products across its key brands including Hot Wheels, Tyco R/C, and Uno.
