Variety reported today that the TNT Witchblade TV series will not return. Although the show was able to resume production and complete its second season after star Yancy Butler went into rehab (see 'Witchblade Filming Again'), the network decided to end its run after two years. Since ratings were good for a cable series, Butler's problems last year may have had an impact on the decision. The cancellation is a blow for Top Cow, which was gaining widespread exposure for one of its primary characters through the series.
