CrossGen Comics has announced an extensive program tied to Teen Read Week, a four-year-old national library event organized by the Young Adult Library Services Association division of the American Library Association.  This year's theme is 'Get Graphic at your Library' and focuses on graphic novels as a way to encourage teen reading.

Support began with the distribution of 60,000 Teen Read Week bookmarks at the San Diego Comic-Con International and continued with the distribution of another 230,000 through comic shops.  CrossGen is also carrying a Teen Read Week ad on the back covers of all of its books from September 18 through Teen Read Week October 13-19.  And it will be sending swag to selected libraries across the country and sending out its artists to workshops at libraries throughout its home state of Florida.

Retailers can also get involved in Teen Read Week (for one retailer's ideas and encouragement, see 'Mike Banks of Samurai Comics on Library Outreach').
