BOOM! Studios will begin reprinting classic Disney comic stories from around the world in Walt Disney’s Comics & Stories and Mickey Mouse in January, in celebration of the 70th anniversary of WD C&S.  Some of the stories have not been reprinted in 50 years; others have never been released in the U.S.  Both issues will be 40 pages for $3.99.  

 

WD C&S #715 will include “Life Savers,” a Junior Woodchucks story written by Carl Barks in 1969 and newly illustrated by Dutch artist Dean Jippes (new to the U.S.); “Forget Me Not,” a 1989 Daisy Duck story written by Ruud Straatman with art by Don Rosa; “70th Heaven,” by Jippes (new to the U.S.); and a 1950 Li’L Bad Wolf/Donald Duck story by Gill Turner (never previously reprinted).  It will feature A and B covers by William Van Horn and Jippes.


Mickey Mouse #304 will include “Pirate Ghost Ship,” a 1944 story by Bill Walsh and Floyd Gottfredson (never before completely reprinted); “Laundry Blues,” a 1932 story by Gottfredson (never before reprinted); and “Don’t Worry About It,” a Goofy story by Romano Scarpa.  Covers will be by Casty and Gottfredson.
