Famed artist Steve Rude has avoided foreclosure on his home, he announced through his blog on Friday.  An appeal for people to buy his art was posted in October (see “Steve Rude Auctioning Off Nexus Art”), and the response was massive, according to Rude.  “Your contributions poured in from all corners of our planet; the sizeable backstock of comics and Dude-related higher reading paraphernalia were ordered by the spit-load, and Erik Larson bought his complete Next Nexus 3 issue,” Rude wrote. 

Rude is currently devoting his time to commissions (for which he’s accepting no new reservations), and isn’t doing any new comic work; although he does promise that a new Steve Rude Sketchbook is on the way.
