As we go into the New Year’s holiday, we wanted to share our thoughts on the year we’re completing and the one we’re about to begin. We’ve worked hard this year to bring you the news at a time of rapid change in the industries we cover. Our archive passed 19,000 articles this year, continuing to make ICv2.com the #1 source for information about the business of geek culture. Our news articles, market reports, previews, reviews, and opinion pieces from our columnists and Talk Back contributors provide a compelling picture of the turbulent business environment for geek culture retailers and others in the business. And Internal Correspondence, our magazine, is the #1 source in print for coverage of geek culture.
Next week, we’ll publish our annual Top 10 Business Events of 2010 lists for the comics and game industries on ICv2.com, and as we’ve been preparing those articles, it’s clear that change is in the air. The economy and digital content are driving changes at the macro level, and within industries, companies, products, and consumer tastes are also changing at a rapid pace.
Change is coming for ICv2 as well. The next year is going to see the most changes at ICv2 since our launch year. As we roll out those changes over the next few months, we’ll be adding new ways to fulfill our mission of improving the businesses of which we’re a part.
On January 31st, 2011, we’ll be celebrating our 10th anniversary as a Website and company. We want to thank all of you—the members of the ICv2 team, our loyal readers and contributors, our advertisers and sponsors, and other supporters—for making it possible. It’s been a great 10 years and we look forward to continuing to serve all of you in 2011 and beyond in new ways and old.
