Kotobukiya is expanding its line of Bishojo (Beautiful Girl) statues with the DC Comics Bishojo Collection Supergirl Bishojo Statue (MSRP $59.99), which will be released in the U.S. in June, and the Marvel Bishojo Collection Invisible Girl Bishojo Statue, which is due out here in July. Each of these highly detailed pre-painted PVC figures has been sculpted by Shunya Yamashita, the creative force behind Kotobukiya’s highly attractive series of Bishojo figures.

The Supergirl Bishojo Statue stands 9.8 inches tall. The busty heroine’s look is based on the character design created for Superman/Batman #8 from May of 2004. The Supergirl figure is perched on a georama cloud base. She is on patrol with her feline partner “Streaky the Supercat.” Her blond locks are partially created through the use of translucent material to express the natural movement of hair in the wind.

Translucent PVC materials are used much more extensively in the 9.1 inch Invisible Girl Bishojo Statue where it captures Sue Storm Richards' ability to turn translucent with various parts of her body including portions of her legs, hands and hair created from clear plastic. Invisible Girl stands on the hand of The Mole Man’s Monster from Fantastic Four #1Invisible Girl is now known as Invisible Woman, but at the time of the release of FF #1 she was still Invisible Girl.
