Thor will open day and date on May 6th in IMAX theaters, thanks to an agreement finalized by Paramount and Marvel with IMAX. The 3D IMAX release offers the studio another way to maximize ticket revenues on Thor; IMAX accounted for 8% of Iron Man 2 revenues (see “’Iron Man 2’ Much”) without the amplifying effect of 3D on ticket prices.
