Playmates Toys has acquired the license to create toys based on the hit Fox animated series Family Guy and will release the first wave of toys in the fall (Mezco Toys previously held the license).  The first release will be the Crazy Interactive World Griffin Living Room Playset, which comes with an exclusive Lois interactive figure that will not be sold separately. 

 

The other Series I figures, which will be sold separately but which will also be released this fall, include Stewie, Peter, Brian, Cleveland, Quagmire, and Halloween Stewie.  Each figure features a resistor that, when placed on the compatible playset, unlocks the real character voices and more than 40 laugh-out-loud phrases from the TV show.

 

Also available from Playmates Toys this autumn will be a 7-inch soft foam Stewie “head-shaped” Football. Additional environments and figures will be released in the spring of 2012 as Playmates is hoping to create the kind of long-running collector-based toy franchise with Family Guy that the company did with another Fox animated property, The Simpsons.
