Marvel’s slow reveal of the post X-Men Schism world with key mutants choosing to join either Cyclop’s “Blue Team” or Wolverine’s “Gold Team” continued today with the release of yet another version of Nick Bradshaw’s panorama of cover illustrations for the Gold Team with a few more silhouettes fleshed out.  As expected Beast is part of Wolvie’s team and a fixture on the cover of Wolverine and the X-Men #1, which is due in late October.  The other member of Wolvie’s team revealed today is quite a bit more surprising—the Grant Morrison-created Kid Omega aka Quentin Quire.  The mass murdering mutant with his signature pink hair is now clearly aligned with the Wolverine team.

The surprising thing about Peter David’s X-Factor #230 is not either of the two new characters revealed today—Strong Guy and Banshee don’t represent much of a stretch, but it now seems clear that there are three more silhouetted figures still left.  Wasn’t X-Factor supposed to suffer a casualty?  Could he/she be replaced so quickly?

As predicted here on Friday (see “X-Men Regenesis Friday Update”) the statuesque figure in the left foreground of the Uncanny X-Force #19 appears to be Psylocke, who is now wielding two psychic Katanas.  Could she end up on both sides of the coming conflict?

There is nothing new revealed in the image of X-Men Legacy #259 released today.  Marvel is saving the last silhouette.  Does that mean (please make it so) that there is just one more round of revelations before the Blue and Gold team rosters are finalized?  Let’s hope so—even the NFL does it quicker and they have to cut down from over 90 players at the beginning of camp to just 53.
