The first clip released by Warner Animation from its forthcoming animated adaptation of Frank Miller and David Mazzuccheli's Batman: Year One depicts one of the key scenes in the saga of the young Batman's crusade to clean up crime and corruption in Gotham City. He crashes a dinner party to provide Gotham's rich and powerful with a cryptic warning, "Gentlemen, you've eaten well. But your feast is nearly over."
The eagerly-awaited Batman: Year One animated feature, which is rated "PG-13," is due out on October 18th in a single disc DVD edition (MSRP $19.98) as well as in a Blu-Ray/DVD Combo Pack ($24.98) and a Two-Disc DVD Special Edition (also $24.98). Ben McKenzie (Southland) voices the Dark Knight, while Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) provides the voice for Commissioner Gordon, and Eliza Dusku (Dollhouse, Buffy) does the same for Selina Kyle/Catwoman.
The Batman: Year One animated film will be accompanied by a “Catwoman” short—and the short animated featurettes accompanying the DC direct-to-DVD features have been exceptional (for full details, see “Batman: Year One Trailer”).
