Longtime editor Betsy Mitchell, editor-in-chief of Del Rey Books, is retiring at the end of 2011. Mitchell is best known for editing science fiction, but also shepherded Del Rey’s move into manga and graphic novels over the last decade. Del Rey continues to publish graphic novels; Kodansha is now publishing its manga in the U.S. on its own (distributed by Random House).
